How to wall climb boost in SpeedRunners 2

Launch build · checked Sep 26, 2026

The short answer

Reach a climbable wall, grapple while you are against it, then jump immediately and keep steering back toward the wall. Repeat the grapple–jump sequence without a long pause to carry your upward movement into the next contact. Practice the timing in Solo → Advanced Tutorial before trying it in a race; use your own bound Grapple and Jump keys, not old SpeedRunners 1 key labels.

The input sequence

A SpeedRunners 2 wall-climb demonstration shows the crucial order: get against the wall, grapple, jump straight afterward, and chain those inputs for the next contact. A current player discussion describes the same loop as grappling at the wall and quickly jumping back toward it. This is a timing sequence, not a separate unlock or item.

  1. Approach a wall and make contact instead of jumping from a distance.
  2. Use Grapple while against the wall, then press Jump immediately.
  3. Keep your movement toward the wall and repeat as you rise. If the chain drops, return to the wall and restart the rhythm.

Where to practice

Players discussing the sequel point to Solo → Advanced Tutorial for this mechanic. Start there or use Training to repeat one vertical section. First make one grapple–jump pair work reliably; only then try chaining pairs for speed. The linked 21-second sequel clip is a visual reference for the input rhythm, not a claim that every wall behaves identically.

If the boost is not working

Check the sequence before changing your entire control layout. If you jump before contacting the wall or leave a long gap after Grapple, you are not reproducing the demonstrated chain. The keys themselves are configurable: our keyboard layout is only one alternative, and old first-game Z/X instructions may not match your SpeedRunners 2 bindings.

What this guide does not claim

The public demonstration does not establish frame-perfect timing, a universal wall list, or a guaranteed speed gain on every route. Those depend on the current build and the wall geometry. Use the advanced tutorial and the linked sequel clip to check a specific movement before relying on it in Ranked.
